Our Team
FG Adriaanse – Founder & CEO
Armed with a Master’s Degree in Logistics and a deep connection to his roots, FG founded Adagin, inspired by his love for both farming and technology. Growing up on his family farm in Klawer, he developed a passion that now drives the Adagin mission. “My passion for both farming and technology is what sparked the creation of Adagin. Sharing this passion with the team makes taking on tough challenges a truly rewarding experience.” When work is done, FG enjoys spending time with family and friends, staying active in nature, reading a good book and visiting his family farm.
JD Naudé – Founder & CTO
With a Mechanical Engineering degree and an unwavering passion for innovation, JD leads the technical vision of Adagin with enthusiasm and expertise. As the Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer, he drives the development of cutting-edge solutions that not only meet but push the boundaries of what is possible in the industry. His commitment to excellence ensures that the company remains at the forefront of technological advancements. When he’s not spearheading projects and inspiring his team, you can find him on the golf course or enjoying a great cup of coffee, his two favorite pastimes.
Justin Vellacott – Chief information officer
With an Honours Degree in Information Systems, Justin brings a wealth of experience and a strategic mindset to the team. Known for his holistic and logical approach, Justin excels in finding creative solutions to complex challenges. In his role at Adagin, he aims to create as many “AHA” moments as possible for customers and the internal core team. Understanding individuals within the team and driving them toward shared goals has been a fundamental strength throughout his 19 years of diverse work experience. Justin loves exercising, exploring the outdoors, and appreciating the beauty of wildlife. Ultimately, his greatest wealth lies in his family – who are all on this journey with Adagin to celebrate life’s wins together.
Cecilia Wiese – Account manager
In her position as Accounts Manager, Cecilia is the first point of contact for our existing and potential customers. With a honours degree Marketing and a strong background in client relations, Cecilia plays a key role in ensuring smooth communication and successful partnerships with our clients. Born in Bloemfontein, her passion for building relationships extends beyond work, as she also manages a guesthouse in her free time. Her diverse experience and personal touch make her an integral part of the team.
Nadia Nagel – Payroll administrator
Nadia oversees all our Time and Attendance client’s wages, ensuring smooth payroll operations and accurate records. Her attention to detail and dedication keeps our operations running efficiently. Outside of work, she is a mother of two and loves spending quality time with her family, making the most of every moment together.
Deidri Ziemerink – Office administrator and accounts
Always enthusiastic and energetic, planning is the magic word. Deidri ensures the smooth running of daily operations and keeps our accounts organised and up to date. Her attention to detail and friendly demeanour makes her an essential part of the team. In her free time, Deidri enjoys relaxing with a good glass of wine or nurturing her love for plants and gardening.
James Gerber - Client success manager
Brings over 10 years of hands-on experience in the agricultural industry, with a strong focus on practical and innovative solutions that improve efficiency, productivity, and sustainability. Known for his problem-solving mindset and results-driven approach, he enjoys tackling complex challenges and implementing strategies that create real impact. Outside of work, James enjoys staying active through sports and outdoor activities, while spending quality time with family and friends keeps him grounded and energised.
Armand van Niekerk - Packhouse division manager
Armand has over 6 years of experience in the agricultural industry, combining practical field knowledge with a strong passion for technology-driven farming solutions. Currently completing a Diploma in Agronomy and Plant Science, he continues to expand his expertise. His experience includes working across various agricultural environments, helping growers improve production systems, optimize inputs, and implement practical technology solutions that support better decision-making and operational efficiency. Armand focuses on implementing modern agri-tech solutions and digital farm management platforms that improve efficiency, productivity, and overall farm performance. , In his free-time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and children, photography, music, and playing guitar.
Johan van Deventer - Senior product engineer
With a background in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Stellenbosch University, Johan brings extensive expertise across IoT, cloud infrastructure, and product development. At Adagin, he bridges the gap between hardware and software, leading the design and deployment of reliable IoT systems and scalable cloud environments. His experience spans everything from PCB design and embedded systems to cloud-native SaaS platforms and mobile applications, giving him a unique ability to understand technology from the ground up. Johan is passionate about building reliable, maintainable systems and leading engineering teams to deliver products that work in the real world. He is equally driven by the strategic and operational side of technology, with a focus on strong teams, high standards, and infrastructure built to last. When he’s not immersed in technology, Johan enjoys travelling, exploring new places, and experiencing what the world has to offer.
Johan Hörstmann – Senior technician
As a Senior Technician, Johan ensures that our client’s scales are always in top working order, applying his expertise to maintain the high standards our clients rely on. His technical skills and attention to detail make him a key player in the team’s success. Outside of work, Johan enjoys the thrill of MTB riding, taking on new trails and exploring the outdoors in his free time.
